In order to help your Guide get to know you as much as they can ahead of time, it's important to have a completed profile.

If you're unsure of where to do this, click on the account menu at the top right of the page, and then click on "Your Profile".

This will bring you to your profile page.

Above is a screenshot of how your profile might appear at first. It's likely that some fields were automatically filled during registration, but the others still need to be filled out.

Remember to click on "Save Profile" when you're finished making all your changes!

We automatically fill this out when you register, but if you ever need to edit it, this is where you would do it.

Adding your age lets your Guide know where you are in your life. Simply enter the number, or use the buttons that appear at the right side of the field to increment your age up or down.

These let us know where you're located. Soon, we'll use this information to help you find Guides with experience dealing with the specific legal, healthcare, and support contexts of your state, as well as provide you with nearby local resources.

Filling this out for a Guide is incredibly helpful. It helps them know more about your situation! In a couple sentences, you can explain how your caregiving experience has been so far, what you might want to talk to a Guide about, or what you hope to get out of LifeGuides.

This dropdown menu lets you say how the person you care for is related to you. This is automatically filled out when you answer the question during account registration.

Soon, we'll be able to match you directly with someone who has taken care of someone with the same relationship – if you're taking care of a parent, you'll find a Guide who also took care of a parent.

This lets you pick what your big concerns are right now, and really helps Guides know about what you need. Choose up to 3 by selecting them from the dropdown menu. You will probably already have some listed on your profile, since we ask you this question during account registration.

Please feel free to change what you'd like to discuss as your situation evolves over time! It will help you find the Guides most suitable for you.

We highly recommend uploading a profile photo. Click on "Upload a Photo" and select your chosen image from your computer. We suggest using a square image, as it may otherwise appear stretched. Remember to click on "Save Profile" when you're finished, or else your photo will not be saved.
